Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
