Surely We created man of a clay of mud moulded, 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 and the curse shall be on you till the Day of Judgement!" 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 38 He said, "My Lord, since You have let me go astray. I shall make the path of error seem alluring to them on the earth and shall mislead them all, 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." 42 Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them." 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44
