The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those who set the ranks in battle order 1 By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way. 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 Except one who sometimes steals a part, so a blazing flame goes after him. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 No wonder you are surprised as they laugh with scorn. 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 It will be but one Shout, then see, they are watching 19 And say: "Ah woe! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once) denied!" 21
