The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the mount 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 in a parchment unrolled, 3 by the much-visited House, 4 By the roof elevated. 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 the torment of your Lord will inevitably take place 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 A day on which the heavens will shake with a visible shaking. 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 woe that day unto those that cry lies, 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 on the Day when they shall be thrust into the fire with [an irresistible] thrust, [and will be told:] 13 This is the Fire which you used to belie. 14 Is this magic? or ye still see not clearly! 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." 19 Reclining on ranged couches. And we wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 We shall give them fruits and meats, and what they desire. 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. 25 They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. 26 “So Allah did us a great favour, and saved us from the punishment of the flame.” 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28
