The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the declining star, 1 your companion is neither astray, neither errs, 2 And he does not say anything by his own desire. 3 This is only revelation communicated, 4 taught by One who is Stern in power. 5 very strong; he stood poised, 6 being on the higher horizon. 7 Then he approached and came closer, 8 until he was as close to him as the distance of two bows, or even less. 9 And He revealed to His servant what He revealed. 10 His heart added no untruth to what he saw. 11 Will ye therefore dispute with him concerning that which he hath seen? 12 And assuredly he saw him at another descent. 13 At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary - 14 Close to which is the Garden of Tranquility, 15 when there covered the Lote-Tree that which covered; 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 He certainly saw the greatest (signs) of the existence of his Lord. 18 Have you then considered the Lat and the Uzza, 19 And subsequently the third, the Manat? 20 Is it for you the males and for Him the females? 21 That were indeed an unjust division. 22 They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath revealed no warrant. They follow but a guess and that which (they) themselves desire. And now the guidance from their Lord hath come unto them. 23 Or shall man have whatever he fancies? 24 Nay! for Allah is the hereafter and the former (life). 25
