In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 Keep vigil the night long, save a little - 2 of one-half thereof - or make it a little less than that, 3 Or add (a little) thereto - and chant the Qur'an in measure, 4 Behold, We shall cast upon thee a weighty word; 5 Lo! the vigil of the night is (a time) when impression is more keen and speech more certain. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 And remember the name of your Lord and, leaving others, devote yourself solely to Him. 8 He is the only Lord, so choose Him as your guardian. 9 And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the affluent ones who give the lie (to the Truth), and bear with them for a while. 11 Indeed We have heavy fetters and a blazing fire. 12 food which chokes (them), and a painful torment. 13 On the day the earth and mountains will rock violently, and the mountains turn to a heap of poured-out sand. 14 Lo! We have sent unto you a messenger as witness against you, even as We sent unto Pharaoh a messenger. 15 But Pharaoh rebelled against the messenger, whereupon We seized him with no gentle grip. 16 How, then, will you guard yourselves, if you disbelieve, on the day which shall make children grey-headed? 17 The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled. 18 This is indeed a Reminder. Let whosoever will take the Path to his Lord. 19
