The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The piercing star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 it is no merriment. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
