And Nuh! recall what time he cried aforetime; so we answered him and delivered him and his household from a calamity mighty. 76 and We helped him against the people who cried lies to Our signs; surely they were an evil people, so We drowned them all together. 77 (Remember) David and Solomon, when they pronounced judgement about the field which was eaten up at night by sheep belonging to certain people. We were witness to their judgement. 78 So We gave the understanding thereof unto Sulaiman; and unto each We vouchsafed judgment and knowledge. And We so subjected the mountains that they shall hallow us along with Daud, and also the birds; and We were the doers. 79 And We taught him the fashioning of coats of armor to protect you from your [enemy in] battle. So will you then be grateful? 80 We made tempestuous winds obedient to Solomon which blew swiftly to sail at his bidding (with his ships) to the land We had blessed. We are cognisant of everything. 81 We also subjected to him some of the jinn who dived for him in the sea and performed other tasks; We kept a watch over them. 82 ۞ (Remember) Job when he called to his Lord: "I am afflicted with distress, and You are the most compassionate of all." 83 Therefore We responded to him and took off what harm he had, and We gave him his family and the like of them with them: a mercy from Us and a reminder to the worshippers. 84 Remember Ishmael and Idris and Dhul Kifl: they were all patient and steadfast. 85 And We admitted them into Our mercy, for they were of the righteous. 86 And remember Zun-Noon,* when he left in anger, assuming that We would not restrict him – he therefore called out in the realms of darkness, saying, “There is no God except You, Purity is to You; I have indeed committed a lapse.” (* Prophet Yunus – peace and blessings upon him) 87 So We answered him, and delivered him out of grief; even so do, We deliver the believers. 88 (Remember) Zachariah when he called to his Lord: "Do not leave me alone (and childless), for you are the best of givers." 89 So We answered him, and We bestowed on him Yahya and We made sound for him his spouse. Verily they were wont to vie with one another in good deeds and to call upon us with longing and dread, and they were ever before us meek. 90 And she who guarded her chastity! Then We breathed into her of Our spirit, and made her and her son a sign unto the worlds. 91 Indeed, this nation of yours is one nation, and I am Your Lord, therefore worship Me. 92 And others have shattered their works into pieces among themselves; all have to return to Us. 93
