1/2 Hizb 45

۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 “Instead of Allah and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Then, are we not to die 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
