We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
