The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He created the human being 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
