The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn! 2 And your Lord glorify 3 Purify your inner self, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 it will be a hard day 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 Leave to Me the one, whom I have created all by Myself, 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! 16 I shall force him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 Soon I will cast him into hell. 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)! 28 Blackening the skins. 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
