No, by the moon! 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning to mortals, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
