The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
