And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said, “Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?” 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. 79
