And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 As to what they did. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
