Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
