A throng of the ancients 39 And a company of the later peoples. 40 And those on the left - how wretched are those on the left! 41 In scorching wind and boiling hot water. 42 And a shade of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor beneficial. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 And they used to persist in the great violation, 46 and they used to say, "What! After we have died and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up again? 47 and perhaps, too, our forebears of old?" 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 Most surely eat of a tree of Zaqqoom, 52 filling your bellies, with it 53 and thereupon you shall drink boiling water, 54 "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" 55 That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense! 56 We! it is We Who created you: wherefore confess ye not? 57 Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 You have known the first growth; so why will you not remember? 62 Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. 63 Is it you who cause it to grow - or are We the cause of its growth? 64 If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim: 65 Verily we are undone. 66 "In fact, we were unfortunate!" 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Is it you who caused it to descend from the cloud, or is it We Who cause it to descend? 69 If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks? 70 Consider the fire that you strike and get by friction. 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We! it is We Who made it a reminder and a provision unto the campers. 73 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 74

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
