Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon darkens 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
