Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 Of what they used to do. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
