Verily Ibrahim was a pattern, devout unto Allah, upright, and, not of the associaters. 120 Grateful for His blessings; Allah chose him and guided him to the Straight Path. 121 And We gave him goodness in this world; and indeed in the Hereafter he is worthy of proximity. 122 Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah. 123 The sabbath was only appointed for those who differed thereon; and verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Judgment-Day concerning that wherein they have been differing. 124 CALL THOU [all mankind] unto thy Sustainer's path with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and argue with them in the most kindly manner - for, behold, thy Sustainer knows best as to who strays from His path, and best knows He as to who are the right-guided. 125 If you punish, let your punishment be proportionate to the punishment you received. But if you are patient, it is better for the patient. 126 And be patient and your patience is not but by (the assistance of) Allah, and grieve not for them, and do not distress yourself at what they plan. 127 for, verily, God is with those who are conscious of Him and are doers of good withal! 128
