And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve, from the Fire! 27 Shall We treat those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, as Mufsidun (those who associate partners in worship with Allah and commit crimes) on earth? Or shall We treat the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2), as the Fujjar (criminals, disbelievers, wicked, etc)? 28 (This is) a Book (the Quran) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember. 29 And We bestowed on David, Solomon. How excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah). 30 When there were displayed before him, in the afternoon, well trained horses of the highest breed [for Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause)]. 31 And he said, "Indeed, I gave preference to the love of good [things] over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain [of darkness]." 32 (Then he said): Bring them back to me, and fell to slashing (with his sword their) legs and necks. 33 And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion): 34 saying, "Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom that no one after me can have the like. You are All-munificent". 35 So We subjected to him the wind, that ran at his commandment, softly, wherever he might light on, 36 and We also subjected the devils to him -- all kinds of builders and divers; 37 And many others bound in bond. 38 This is Our gift, so bestow thou or withhold, without rendering an account. 39 And verily, nearness to Us awaits him [in the life to come,] and the most beauteous of all goals! 40
