The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 And made them virgins. 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
