۞ I do not need to swear by the setting of the stars 75 And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great. 76 it is surely a noble Koran 77 in a well-guarded preserved Book, 78 which none but the pure may touch; 79 It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Would you say that this statement is a lie? 81 And make denial thereof your livelihood? 82 Why, then, when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 83 And you at the moment are looking on, 84 and while We are closer to him than you, although you see [Us] not: 85 if you are not subject to anyone's authority, 86 can you not cause that [ebbing life] to return - if what you claim is true? 87 [ALL OF YOU are destined to die.] Now if one happens to be of those who are drawn close unto God, 88 then for him there shall be comfort and plenty and a Garden of Bliss; 89 If it is of the people of the right hand, 90 (For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand. 91 And if he is one of those who give the lie (to this Message) and go astray, 92 Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water 93 And burning in hell. 94 Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty. 95 Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 96
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah). Sent down in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
