And indeed Nooh prayed to Us so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
