Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
