Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 Thamud, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
