The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 So those on the right how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 and banana trees, 29 and shade extended, 30 and gushing water, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 for those on the Right, 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
