The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
