The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
