The Key (Al-Faatehah)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir) before Thorns (Al-Masad)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful 1

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, 2 The Compassionate, the Merciful. 3 Sovereign of the Day of Recompense. 4 Thee do we serve and Thee do we beseech for help. 5 Guide us on the Straight Path. 6 The way of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, not of those who have been condemned [by Thee,] nor of those who go astray! 7

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
