Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 a guidance and a mercy to those who do good, 3 people who are steadfast in prayer, pay the religious tax, and have firm belief in the life to come. 4 It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! 5 (In an attempt to show that God's revelations are only ancient legends) some people pay for meaningless tales to draw others attention away from the Quran without knowledge and treat as a matter of fun. They will suffer a humiliating torment. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 Surely, those who believe and do good works shall enter gardens of bliss, 8 Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He hath created the heavens that ye behold without pillars, and hath cast into the earth firm mountains lest it move away with you; and He hath scattered thereon every kind of animal. And We send down water from the heaven and We make grow every kind of goodly growth therein. 10 This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. 11
