The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] lined up in rows 1 By the angels driving away. 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 Most surely your Allah is One: 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 and driven away to suffer the necessary torment. 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So, ask those who deny the truth if it was harder to create them than all the other things We have created? We created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 And when they are warned they pay no heed. 13 and when they see a miracle, they mock 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 Will our forefathers also be brought to life again?" 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 (It will be said): "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21
