Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 storming tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
