The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
