Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and well spread carpets. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
