(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
