The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the star when it descends, 1 That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, 2 And he speaketh not of his own desire. 3 It is only an Inspiration that is inspired. 4 and taught to him 5 One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form 6 While he was in the highest part of the horizon: 7 and then drew near, and came close, 8 he was but two bows' length or even nearer, 9 And He revealed to His servant what He revealed. 10 The [servant's] heart did not give the lie to what he saw: 11 Will you then dispute with him as to what he saw? 12 He saw Him indeed another time 13 by the lote-tree at the farthest boundary, 14 Near it is the Garden of Abode. 15 with the lote-tree veiled in a veil of nameless splendour 16 Neither did sight falter nor exceed the bounds. 17 Assuredly he beheld of the sign of his Lord, the greatest. 18 Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, 19 And Manat, the third, the last? 20 Shall you have the male issues, and He the female issues? 21 That were indeed an unjust division. 22 They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance. 23 Or shall man have what he wishes? 24 But unto Allah belongeth the after (life), and the former. 25

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
