The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 you pay attention 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
