And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
