The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created man 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
