The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 By the Promised Day! 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
