۞ And thy Lord hath decreed that ye shall worship none but Him, and unto parents shew kindness; and if either of them or both of them attain old age with thee, say not unto them: pooh. And browbeat them not, and speak unto them a respectful speech. 23 And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: "My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood." 24 Your Lord knoweth best what is in your hearts: If ye do deeds of righteousness, verily He is Most Forgiving to those who turn to Him again and again (in true penitence). 25 Give to the near of kin, the needy and the destitute traveler their rights and do not squander, 26 Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful. 27 If you are not able to assist them, at least speak to them in a kind manner. 28 Be neither miserly, nor so open-handed that you suffer reproach and become destitute. 29 Your Lord gives abundantly to whom He will and sparingly to whom He pleases. He is informed and observant about His servants. 30
