And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve, from the Fire! 27 Shall We make those who believe and work righteous works like unto the corrupters in the earth; or shall We make the God-fearing like unto the wicked! 28 This is a Book which We have sent down upon you, a blessed Book, for them to ponder upon its verses, and for men of intellect to accept advice. 29 And to David We gave Solomon. An excellent servant, indeed he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah]. 30 When the noble galloping horses were displayed to him one evening, 31 Then he said: Surely I preferred the good things to the remembrance of my Lord-- until the sun set and time for Asr prayer was over, (he said): 32 "Bring them back to me!" -- [he said] and began to stroke their legs and their necks. 33 But [ere this,] indeed, We had tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned [towards Us; and] 34 He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower." 35 Then We made the wind subservient to him; it made his command to run gently wherever he desired, 36 and We also subjected the devils to him -- all kinds of builders and divers; 37 and others that were bound with chains. 38 We said: "This is Our gift, so give or withhold as you wish without reckoning." 39 In Our eyes he certainly has a high position and the best place to return. 40
