Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
