The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 upon couches gazing; 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
