Said Firaun to the court members around him, “He is indeed an expert magician.” 34 Who would drive you out of your land by his magic. Now what counsel ye? 35 They said: Put him off, (him) and his brother, and send into the cities summoners 36 “To bring to you every expert great magician.” 37 So all the magicians gathered together at the appointed time 38 And the people were told: "Are ye (now) assembled?- 39 Haply we shall follow the sorcerers if it should be they are the victors.' 40 So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Pharaoh: "Of course - shall we have a (suitable) reward if we win? 41 'Yes, indeed' he answered, 'and you shall become among those who are near stationed' 42 Moses said to them, 'Cast you down what you will cast.' 43 So they threw their ropes and their rods, and said: "By the might of Pharaoh, it is we who will certainly win!" 44 Therefore Moosa put forth his staff so it immediately began swallowing all their fabrications. 45 so the sorcerers were cast down, bowing themselves. 46 Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 47 “The Lord of Moosa and Haroon.” 48 The Pharaoh said, "You believed without my permission? He seems to be your chief who has taught you magic. But you will soon know (the result of what you have done). I shall certainly cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides and crucify you all together." 49 They answered: "No harm [canst thou do to us]: verily, unto our Sustainer do we turn! 50 We certainly hope our Lord will forgive our sins as we are the first to believe." 51

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
