The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 And those who read (the Word) for a reminder, 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 a protection against every rebel satan; 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 and whenever they see some sign, they ridicule it, 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 They will say: "Woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense!" 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
