S (Saad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 Nay, those who desbelieve are in false pride and opposition. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". 4 “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” 5 And their leaders launch forth [thus]: "Go ahead, and hold steadfastly onto your deities: this, behold, is the only thing to do! 6 Never did we hear of [a claim like] this in any faith of latter days! It is nothing but [a mortal man's] invention! 7 Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom. 8 Or is it that they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the great Giver? 9 Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 Before them, the people of Nooh had denied, and the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun who used to crucify. 12 And [the tribe of] Thamud and the people of Lot and the companions of the thicket. Those are the companies. 13 not one [was there] but gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon My retribution fell due. 14
