The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
